Our History

Worship on our property began in 1900. The organized church became known as the Murphy Baptist Church. Our present worship center was built in 1900. The property on which it sits is considered a historical marker.

In 1979 the majority of the church members moved to a new location with more land and changed its name to the Murphy Road Baptist Church. A group of 35 members stayed at the present location and formed the First Baptist Church.

Today, First Baptist Church has to moved to a new 10.5 acre campus located at the corner of North Murphy Road and McMillan Drive. Its just the first of a multiphased plan of growth and expansion.
