Our Pastor

Dr. Don Cole Dr. Cole was called as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Murphy on June 24, 2007. Dr. Cole has 37 years of ministerial experience. He has previously served as pastor in Texas and Sao Paulo, Brazil. While in Brazil he served as the Department Head of the Pastoral Ministries Department for the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels at the Baptist Theological Seminary of Sao Paulo.

Dr. Cole is committed to the life changing power of the Bible. His goal is to lead the church to develop mature followers of Jesus. He combines humor, stories and quotes with biblical truth to inspire, encourage, motivate and challenge his listeners.

Dr. Cole accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior while in Junior High School. He was called to the ministry during a worship service at the Falls Creek Baptist Assembly in Oklahoma during his High School years.

He married his wife Sharon, from Irving, Texas, while studying at Oklahoma Baptist University. After serving on staff at the First Baptist Church of Duncan, Oklahoma Don, Sharon and their three children served as missionaries in Brazil for 11 years.
