A message to our guests and members

April 1, 2020

Thanks for joining us for another weekend of services online.  We will continue to offer online services through April and then we will reevaluate if social distancing restrictions are changed. We had our first Executive Board meeting via Webex. We are looking into some avenues to create online interactive opportunities for our church body that will provide some safe avenues to connect and share.

We are planning some exciting things for the week of Easter and Easter Sunday, April 12. Please be praying for God to draw people to online experiences this Easter. We will have Easter Sunday Service just not at the church.  You will be able to join us online and invite others with you for Sunday school and worship.

Please check the following FBC online resources for helpful information during the week and on the weekends. Our staff and volunteer leaders are working hard to provide helpful resources and equipping during this season. We’ll be sharing some creative ways that you can practice Jeremiah 29:7 on the First Baptist Church of Murphy Texas Facebook page later this week.

I hope you are still continuing to work on memorizing your verses. Right now, you should have memorized Romans 3:23, 6:23, and 5:8.  You should be working on memorizing Romans 10:9. This Bridge to Life YouTube video will give you a brief picture of one way we will encourage you to utilize these verses to share the gospel with someone. Please watch the video and share with others.

This is a great time for families to learn more about family discipleship. Here’s a link to an article I wrote on Family Discipleship for the Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary Journal. This will help you think strategically about extra time at home and how to strategically disciple the next generation. Please read and share with others.

Know that we are praying for you.  We need to pray for one another.  Call someone up and pray for them. Text them a prayer. Email them a prayer. Be creative and consistent in praying for one another.  God is doing an incredible work in us and in our nation.  Let us be passionate about walking consistently with Him so that we can join Him where He is working.

Please read the following announcements and utilize them as a way to pray for our church.
