Why is hope needed?

God's Design

God’s design from the beginning was a perfect world full of hope without sin, sadness, or death. He designed us to have a relationship with Him. (Genesis 1:31; Psalm 19:1)

Brokenness

Sin entered the world when mankind disobeyed the command of God, which led to a broken world, separated from God. In our brokenness, we often look for a way out by chasing things that really don’t satisfy our deepest longings. We need some good news. (Romans 3:23; Proverbs 14:12; Romans 1:25; Romans 6:23)

Jesus

God loved us so much he provided a way out of brokenness back into fellowship with Him. God sent his only Son Jesus, who never sinned, making him the perfect sacrifice to die on the cross and pay the penalty for our sins. Jesus died and rose again three days later, defeating sin and giving us hope for a restored relationship with God and eternal life. (Romans 5:8; John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
